When My Name Was Keoko Day 6

잘 먹겠습니다 (jal meokkesseumnida) (This is how you say 'Bon Appetite" before a meal)

Over the weekend we had a lot of reading, but it was an intense ride for Tae-yul as he joined the Japanese Army and became a kamikaze pilot. Today we are going to explore more the world that Tae-yul came into.


DO NOW: Answer the following questions independently:


1. What is something that a kamikaze and a samurai have in common?
2. List 3 rules created by the Japanese against the Koreans during World War II?
3. How does Korea's geography affect their culture?

CLASSWORK: Discuss chapters 24-29. Create a comic strip of an event in a kamikaze's life.


HOMEWORK: Finish the comic strip if it is not completed in class.


Start reading Chapters 30-32 in "When My Name Was Keoko" and answer the questions in the homework folder. Due on Wednesday


NOTE**** Tomorrow is a WORKDAY. 


NOTE2***** Asia Country Projects are DUE at the end of class on Friday!
