How Did the Different Cultures of the Past Influence the Americas Culture Today?

Bonjou! ("Hello" from many Haitian Creole speakers. Haitian Creole is a mix of French and African languages.)

Today we are going to talk about how cultures change over time and what causes them to change. We see this most clearly when we look at the Americas past culture and present culture. We are going to be completing a mini project to show us what happened and why.

DO NOW: What type of things do you do that are influenced by other cultures and other countries. For Example, I had Chana Masala last night for dinner (yes, it was delicious). This food comes originally from India. I also watched my husband run a half marathon. Marathons originated in Greece.
