What are the Key Dynasties of China's Past?

Nǐ hǎo! ("nee how") Hello in Mandarin Chinese!

We had a big day yesterday. We took our quiz on India, and began to learn about our next country, China. China is the largest country in the world. Their history and culture is rich in ancient traditions, language, food, and innovations. As always, in order to learn about a country's present culture, we have to first look at the past. China today takes much value in preserving their past culture and traditions. Today we are going to look at the key points in China's past. Like many other ancient cultures, China was divided into dynasties.

DO NOW: As a group, look at the picture at your table. What do you notice? Have the recorder write down 10 things that you notice about the timeline. Be prepared to share what you discovered.

CLASSWORK: 2.9 China's Dynasties in eBackpack. As a group you will be given one section to read and answer the questions. Then, you will fill in a foldable.
