When My Name Was Keoko Day 4

만나서 반가워요 (Mannaseo bangawoyo) "Pleased to meet you" in Korean!!

Today we will continue discussing When My Name Was Keoko. We have seen from Sun-hee that words are really important to her. We will talk about why words are so important to her, and how she feels that her words may mean less.


DO NOW: Answer the following questions independently


1. What is kimchi?
2. What is a kimono?
3. What are 3 ways that Koreans show respect for their elders?


CLASSWORK: We will be discussing Chapters 15-17.

HOMEWORK: Finish Sun-hee's journal entry, if not completed in class. 

Asian Country Notes Sheet due Thursday at the END OF CLASS!!!!!

Start reading Chapters 18-23 in “When My Name was Keoko.” Then, answer the questions for Chapters 18-23 from When My Name was Keoko Questions in the EBackpack.

NOTE: Tomorrow is a workday. You will have time tomorrow to read the chapters as well.
